The Portland 5k encourages you to join a running club as you train for the Portland 5k. The clubs listed on this page are actively helping many runners and walkers enjoy the joy of being active.
Moms RUN This Town (MRTT) is a FREE running club for women to support and motivate you in your running journey! It doesn’t matter if you are a walker or runner… a mom to humans or a mom to pets (or not a mom at all!)… We just want to surround you with like-minded women who have a passion for staying healthy! We maintain an active Facebook page, where we schedule our runs, meet ‘n greets and other activities. All skill levels from beginner walkers to ultra runners. Not in Portland? MOMS RUN THIS TOWN provides pace groups for the Uberthons Oregon Half Marathon Series (WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER & FALL Half Marathons) and the Oregon Marathon.
Team Red Lizard is a Portland-based running club that offers a training, racing and social network that aims to assist athletes of all abilities in achieving their fitness goals. While the club has plenty of runners who place well in local races, the thing that makes TRL unique is that there is no performance criteria required to join, and members of the club pride themselves in supporting members who are competing at whatever level they are capable. Members typically join looking for a group of people to train and race with, and TRL facilitates this by offering standing group runs and track workouts during the week, having a message board for connecting for runs, and competing in local races. One of the other unique aspects of the club is volunteerism, which includes putting on the regional Special Olympics track meet, providing pace group leaders for the Portland Marathon, and organizing the Stumptown Cross country race series each fall.

The Bowerman Track Club is a Portland area club focused on providing competitive running opportunities to runners of all ages. The club includes a fall cross-country youth program for kids ages 8-14, a locally and nationally-competitive elite group, a locally and nationally-competitive masters group and an internationally-competitive professional group. The youth cross-country program is a great opportunity for kids of all abilities to get their first exposure to running as a sport and progress their abilities going into high school. The youth program practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and races on some weekends from September to December.
The club also puts on the Bowerman 5k in July and a family friendly 3k-race series on Wednesday nights in August.

Alice Peters Diffely is a Certified Chi Running® and Chi Walking® Master Instructor, Registered Yoga Teacher, and a Certified TRE® Provider in Portland.
A Portland native and an avid distance runner ever since she competed for Lincoln High School’s cross country and track teams, Alice was a member of Stanford University’s track team during her freshman year of college, until she was sidelined by injuries. She consistently placed in her age group in local road races throughout her 20’s. Competitive highlights include a 3:06 marathon finish as a law school student. Read more about RunningMindfully.
Portland Women's Run Club - We are a FREE, all-female, all-ages, all-ability running group that promotes getting women moving. Whether you're just starting out, working on a PR or tackling a new distance, this is the group for you.
PWRC offers motivation, advice and support for beginners to experienced athletes while working to raise funds for our charity partner, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest. Our weekly workouts are a great way to meet new friends, stay healthy and have fun!

SunstoneRC consists of (more than half) members from Intel Corporation as well as non-Intel members. The majority of us lives in Beaverton and Hillsboro areas and a few in downtown Portland. Our members run at different paces ranging from 7 min/mile to 10 min/mile.
We accept people from all backgrounds and levels of experience. Whether you’re a first time runner or a seasoned veteran, you’ve come to the right place. We always have someone leading the runs and pushing the fast runners to run faster, as well as someone hanging out as the caboose to make sure that no one is left behind. There is no fee to join our club.

Who We Are
Alpha Track Club Oregon is a youth club serving the Portland Metropolitan area, with practice mainly in the Beaverton area. The club is focused on elite youths participating in the 100m-1500m events. The club completed its first season in 2017. We are proud to have state and regional champions among our members. The club is open to highly motivated athlete's age 8-14 with a history of success or who are motivated to improve.
ATC, takes pride in structured and individualized training that develops strong mechanics and efficiency. We emphasize developing good form, high stride rate, good stride length, power, and recovery.
Mindless repetition of distances is not part of our program. Each practice develops specific running subsystems, using different types of running, drills, and recovery periods. This approach not only develops complete runners, but it also keeps the athletes interested and helps prevent burnout. We also take pride in integrating fun drills and activities into practices.
Finally, the club welcomes parents to join in the practices too! (But be prepared to leave your egos behind--fast kids are out there!)

Wonders of Walking (WOW) celebrates you, the walker, by offering a range of walking events for walkers by walkers. We celebrate health, fun and social benefits of walking by providing walking events.
Wonders of Walking (WOW) celebrates the health benefits, competitive opportunities and recreational aspect of walking as tool to better health and fitness.
At WOW, we recognize that if exercise isn't fun or enjoyable, most people simply won't do it. That's why our focus is on the journey, not just the finish line. Whether you're a racewalker or a wanderer, we bring walkers events that celebrate seeing, doing, experiencing and enjoying at a pace that's comfortable for nearly everyone.
With an aging population and obesity on the rise, walking is a step in the right direction to an active lifestyle. We want to encourage people to get moving with trainings, coaching, clubs, resources and seminars that are fun, motivational and challenging.
High Altitude Track & Field
High Altitude Track & Field is a Southern Oregon/Klamath Basin USATF club. Specializing in the youth arena, our club has adult training available, as well.
Formed in 2017, Rose City Track Club is a grassroots running club in Portland, Oregon that values the spirit of competition, camaraderie, hard work, and love for the sport. We foster a team atmosphere for developing distance runners looking to train, improve, and support each other’s goals.
RCTC members meet for weekly runs, workouts, and professional core/strength sessions, receive personalized training schedules from our head coach Greg Mitchell, have access to partner specialists and educational sessions, and get opportunities to volunteer and give back to the local running community.

Molalla Running Club
Molalla Running Club strives to build a healthier community through inspiring people to walk or run, developing tourism in Molalla through hosting races, and provide an environment for people to form healthy relationships.
We are a non-profit organization that is passionate about our city and the motivation to promote a healthy lifestyle through running. The Molalla Running Club hosts 2 great races every year: Freedom 5k on the 4th of July and the Molalla River Trail Race. We also help promote the local high school's Goat Mountain Gallop through the Run Molalla Series. Come run with us! We meet every Saturday morning at 8 AM for our free group run. We meet in front of 215 East Main St. Our distances and pace are determined on who shows up and what everyone needs.
Sherwood Running Club
The Sherwood Youth Track Club allows kids 6 to 18 to participate in track and field. Our main goals are to HAVE FUN, promote the sport of track and field, allow our youth to try each and every event throughout the season, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Registration open in early February. The season is generally from mid-March through the end of June.

Oregon Road Runners Club
Founded in 1970, the Oregon Road Runners Club (ORRC) is the second oldest and largest Oregon running club, hosting annual running events and training, as well as supporting runners dedicated to promoting running as a competitive sport and as healthy exercise.
